There are very few supplements that are widely accepted as non-negotiable staples for most people.

A premium quality fish oil formula is one of those.

With that said, finding a potent, quality product that hasn’t gone rancid is far more difficult than with essentially any other dietary supplement.

The unfortunate reality of the Omega-3 market is that the quality varies so widely that taking a fish oil supplement often feels like a gamble.

You’re not only hoping it's not underdosed, but also that it's not rancid and doing more harm than good.

A 2023 multi-year rancidity analysis of Omega-3 supplements found that nearly half of the products on the market that they tested were oxidized/rancid [R].

A larger study conducted in 2015 shed light on how prevalent low-quality Omega-3 products were at the time, and it doesn’t appear that things have improved much since. The oxidation/rancidity status of 171 North American Omega-3 supplements were analyzed, and the results revealed that 50% of the products exceeded the voluntary recommended levels for markers of oxidation. Another 18% of products were approaching the limits with 1-3 years before expiration [R].

Another study analyzing 32 Omega-3 supplements found that only 3 of them contained quantities of EPA and DHA that were equal or higher than labeled content, with most products tested (69%) containing <67%. The vast majority of supplements exceeded recommended levels of oxidation markers. 83% products exceeded the recommended PV levels, 25% exceeded AV thresholds and 50% exceeded recommended TOTOX levels. Only 8% met the international recommendations [R].

Is this product shellfish free?: We do not specifically test for shellfish content, however there is an input material protocol for all ingredients going into the production. No shellfish or shellfish derived material were used.
If i wanted to get these as a gift for someone for christmas, how long would i have before they went bad, assuming they’re stored in room temp in their container with no light hitting them?: Our products have a shelf life of two years.
Is gelatin kosher/halal?: At Gorilla Mind, we do not certify any of our products as halal, kosher, vegan, or vegetarian. Manufacturing lines are cleaned and sanitized between all product runs, though there is always a very tiny chance of cross contamination.
I want to take this supplement especially knowing the quality of ingredients used. However this pill is huge and I'm not great at swallowing pills. Would it be possible to chew these or put in a blender in a smoothie? I'll put up with the taste if there is any.: Many of our customers break apart the capsules and put them in a beverage.
